The HighSeasWind Energy System is an embodiment of an innovative approach to harvesting virtually unlimited deep-sea wind and hydrokinetic
energy offshore with little concern for water depth. Its intent is to optimize offshore energy generation and to reduce the cost-of-energy.
The HighSeasWind Energy System is the first offshore energy generating apparatus built in its entirety on dry land, thus enabling the utilization of truly modern, mass-production techniques and management methods.
The cornerstone of HighSeasWind’s technology is a floating energy platform that is equipped with a Variable Incline capability. The platform supports a utility-scale wind turbine and a hydrokinetic energy harvester. The HighSeasWind Energy System is an open-source, universal foundation for multiple complimentary hydrokinetic energy harvesting technologies.
The HighSeasWind Energy System is built on shore. It is floated for deployment in a reclined position. At the deployment site it self-transitions into a power-generating vertical mode. Mooring and laying of power cables are the only construction activities done at sea. For significant repairs the system transitions into a horizontal orientation and is towed back to shore. The HighSeasWind
Energy System is capable to transition into a horizontal position and submerge underneath the water surface, safe from wind and waves for protection from extreme weather.
